The client requested that an acoustic evaluation be performed on a residential construction drawing set for . The location of the construction was near a major airport and the City of San Diego Noise Element requires that interior community noise levels remain below 45dBA.
The architectural drawings were reviewed and the construction and materials of the exterior wall assemblies were determined. A combination of mathematical and software modeling of the environment and assemblies was used to deterimine if the wall assemblies were sufficient to meet the 45dBA CNEL requirements. The results and recommendations were prepared in a report and presented to the client for submittal to the city.
