A client requested that an anticipated noise model analysis be performed on a future auto shop location. The shop is to be located in a pre-existing commercial building with apartments located behind it. The city noise ordinance required that noise at the boundary be limited based on adjacent properties.

A noise model was developed mathematically based on the property layout and a list of equipment to be used. Elements such as the equipment type, average use, quantity, distance to the property boundary and any barriers were taken into consideration.

A report was prepared based on the acoustic model and delivered to the client for submission to the city.
